Happy New Year 2020

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2020!

A new decade is beginning.

The ‘roaring’ or ‘golden’ twenties, the future may show. A decade, which hundred years ago belonged to the youth and the New, right after a terrible war. Today, in our split (western) society, which in demography is the oldest ever and in terms of internet and business culture is the most juvenile ever. Contrasts! The Teenage-ification of the internet is creeping up the whole age range and one may be inclined to abandon such a useful tool of communication because intelligent discourse does seem the get replaced by shitstorms (What a word!). Discourse cannot happen by likes and dislikes. As a teenager, one is trying to find his or her position in the complexity of the world by what one likes or not. As grown-up – if that state should ever be reached – one is more differentiated. You may ask yourself WHY something is liked or disliked. What is the hidden agenda, the motive, which is the point of view?

It is not NOW!!! (Another over-stressed word of 2019) the time to change the world. It is ALWAYS the time to work on our way HOW we see and understand the world.

In that sense, keep on questioning the world around you and not judging it. It may have a positive effect on you AND the world.

Yours sincerely…

Andreas Vogler

Andreas Vogler Studio in New Catalogue of German Space Companies

AV Studio is listed as only architect’s and design studio in the newly published catalogue of German Space Companies.

The DLR Space Administration commissioned by the Federal Ministry for economy and energy
developed a first nationwide catalog of German space operators. In particular, the catalog gives an insight into aerospace related application products and services (downstream sector). The compendium presents the specific competences of the space actors. Pictograms help to quickly gain an overview of the fields of competence. The overview of actors in the space industry and the research landscape should also stimulate the exchange with other industries and research sectors. The participation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the project was gratifyingly high. This will hopefully trigger technology transfers and drive space commercialization. In addition, the exchange between the space operators should also be specifically promoted. Corresponding registers support the search on site. The catalog is intended as a supplement to the already existing catalogs of some federal states and to manuals.

Shanghai Real Estate Delegation visiting Andreas Vogler Studio

A delegation of 5 deputy general managers of several real estate and property companies from Shanghai visits Andreas Vogler Studio. The delegation wants to get an impression on how AVS deals with the modern and the historic context.
Andreas Vogler, who has been in China several times, pointed out, that if modern development is too fast and unreflected, the old gets lost for ever. But the old is an important part of peoples identity and a base to build the future, not necessarily an obstacle. The key is to maintain quality.
The delegation expressed their interest to collaborate in future with AVS.

He touched the Earth lightly….

On 05. October my dear friend, mentor and teacher Richard Marathon Horden left this planet. Since I was a student he had a major impact on my being an architect and designer. He teached me the concepts of touching the Earth lightly, micro architecture, thinking light and admire the beauty of nature and to respect it with the architecture we design.

We will miss you, but keep on following your spirit!

AeroLiner3000 Structural Node

The German Aerospace Center @DLR exhibits its first welding test of the #AeroLiner3000 steel body construction.

The production and assembly concepts chosen for the car body are based on technologies that are already being used in the same or similar way in other industries. It will drive the realisation of the next generation of trains forward. The three-dimensional bent tubes for the side walls of the car body structure of the AeroLiner3000 design are manufactured using free-form bending. Robots automatically weld the bent tubes to the longitudinal beams. Corresponding welding tests were been carried out for a structural node at the SLV Halle.

The full-scale structural node is shown at #InnoTrans2018 the world largest railway trade fair in Berlin.

morgen“ / Beispielhafte zukunftsweisende Projekte vorgestellt
